XForge Is The New Android Powered Gaming Smartphone – The World’s First ‘DePIN’ Phone

Pushing the boundaries between blockchain and everyday devices

This week, XProtocol have made an exciting announcement about XForge, an Android powered gaming smartphone which is due to hit the market later this year.

XForge features 256GB of storage, 12GB of RAM, and a strong Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. But the main selling point is how this device connects with the layer-3 network that XProtocol built atop Coinbase’s Base layer-2 scaling solution for Ethereum.

This ambitious venture sees an exciting blockchain integration with everyday devices.

What Is DePIN?

DePIN stands for ‘decentralized physical infrastructure networks’, which means blockchain-powered networks of physical hardware. XProtocol anticipates a future in which the network is powered not just by software running on XForge handsets, but also by dedicated Xardian Nodes.

The XForge is competitively priced at $299 or £223 ,which is cheaper than the Solana Seeker at $450 or £336.

The XForge was very popular at Token2049 last week in Singapore, with 140,000 presales across 57 countries.
